Hyatt Place National Harbor

From booking to checking in 5 stars. Front desk staff is very approachable, friendly and courteous. My wife and I decided on a mini staycation and the location is definitely worth it. We had an upgraded room to a water view. Which was beautiful watching the sunrise and set. Breakfast is basic but good and fresh. You’re greeted with smiles and good mornings off the elevator. Rooms are clean and Secure. Looking for a room when visiting? I highly recommend!

The location is everything. Steps from the harbor. Parking -- A very pleasant 1.5 blocks from hotel. Better Hours of Operation communication is needed between front desk and Bar Harbor restaurant. Was told restaurant closed at 11:00 P.M. that Friday. So walked the harbor until 10:15. Went to restaruant and was told they were closed. After front desk manager discussed with the restaurant, I was seated, and able to enjoy a very delicious Salmon / Rice Pilaf / Spinach meal.

My family and I had a great experience at this hotel in late September 2023 in a double room. Our room was great quality, clean, and had a great window view. The restaurant downstairs serves good pizza, steak, and shrimp for dinner. The open buffet style breakfast in the morning was a nice touch to finish off the trip. The location is a very short walk to the Ferris wheel and other shops and restaurants. Our one annoyance in our room was the walk in shower had a metal flush style linear drain and when you finish your shower, you will hear a metallic ringing sound when the water drops onto the drain. It sounded kind of like a tin can shaking.

Great hotel, but for a Hyatt place and something that is intended for longer stay, parking is pretty pricy at 24 per day. If they could even negotiate better parking pricing for their customers that would he ideal. Other than that great customer service. Staff are all friendly and helpful, the gym is actually really nice and well maintained.

The Hyatt at this location is clean & staff is friendly. Beware parking is not validated very pricy for overnight $25. You are not allowed to bring Ballons. The hotel manager knocked on my door next the elevator to tell me “it’s after 10 pm & keep down the noise level.” The hotel manager didn’t state any complaints about noise from my room. By the way only 4 women were drinking wine & talking & some laughter. Breakfast was acceptable. Temporary parking for pick & drop offs. I will not choose this location again. Thank you but no thank you for treating adults like kids. The room is expensive for this level of service.

The hotel is situated right on the harbor near everything. The staff was great, including the bartender Mo. The room was very nice and spacious. Within walking distance to all the restaurants and bars and only a 5 minute ride to MGM casino. Parking was the only issue. They do not have their own parking garage, which I understand due to the location, but they could at least offer some kind of discount. The parking garage is around the corner and is quite pricey per day. Also, if you're traveling with family like I did (3 rooms all adults) and decide to meet up in one of the rooms keep your voices to a whisper. Someone called the front desk because we were too loud and was told if they had to come back the police would be with them. They weren't rude or anything and we respected the request. It was only around 10:30pm, but I have been in some very nice hotels were the people on my floor was quite loud a lot later and didn't feel the need to report it. With that being said I still give the hotel overall 5 stars.

Overall I enjoyed my stay! No complaints about staff, they all were friendly. The food at Bar Harbor (restaurant in the hotel) was pretty good and the bartender made me a strong beverage! I’ll break down my pros and cons: Pros: Rooms were very clean; no carpet; fairly spacious; great view (they upgraded us to a view), restaurant had good food; friendly staff; Excellent location, so many restaurants walking distance Cons: Bed wasn’t the most comfy; walls and doors seemed thin. We could hear a lot of the hallway and adjacent room noise, mainly hallway; Free Breakfast was meh.

This review details an event we coordinated with the Hyatt National Harbor. We worked with a client who wanted a beautiful venue for her son's first birthday. She had a lot of family come in town and wanted to give her guests a nice venue in a great location. Hyatt (Shelton) was immediately responsive to our inquires as we tried to find the client a great spot. Shelton took us on a tour of the facility prior to the event and was so accommodating to the clients requests and questions. The day-of venue coordination (Elisa) was so great to work with. She responded to so many last minute requests and was just so flexible to our requests. The continued communication up to the event made us very confident that the event would run smoothly. The also assisted with a room block at the clients request. The venue was also so accommodating to the client using a private caterer because she wanted to include cultural cuisine. While the venue has their own kitchen that was providing a few snacks, they still were so gracious to an outside caterer. In general the venue made it very easy for all vendors to come set up - decorator, baker, balloon delivery, catering, etc,. Finally, the other staff were so amazing to work with during the event. ALL of the staff were so helpful, kind, and made the event a success! The positive attitudes were such a plus and made us so happy to work with a great venue like Hyatt. Recommend this venue to any coordinators or party planners!
